LeSportSac Everyday Belt Bag Review: Lightweight Packable Waist Pack
I’ve carried the LeSportSac Everyday Belt Bag from Guatemala to Mexico and on countless NYC adventures. Here’s why it’s still my lightweight go-to waist pack for daily essentials.

I bought the LeSportSac Everyday Belt Bag back in 2016 and it’s followed me through airports, bike rides and two international trips.
It’s incredibly lightweight, has just the right amount of organization and somehow still looks brand new after years of use. This is incredible to me because I’ve taken it on countless flights, adventures abroad and CitiBike rides in all types of weather, strapped to my waist or my body.
Why it’s still in my travel waist pack rotation
- Weightless nylon: The nylon material barely registers on a luggage scale. I can pack it flat inside a backpack and forget it’s there until I need a belt bag in a jiffy.
- Two-pocket layout: A roomy main compartment fits a small point-and-shoot camera, wallet and travel-sized sunscreen, while the front pocket keeps chapstick and some cards handy.
- Adjustable strap: The strap expands far enough to wear it crossbody on bike rides or cinch down for a traditional waist carry. I’ve even worn it over jackets (and under jackets, too).

How I use it in real life
- City travel: It’s my default bag for exploring places like Antigua and Mérida, keeping my essentials close without overheating.
- Flights: I pack it empty in my personal item, then load it up right before landing so I can move quickly through customs with my passport.
- Everyday errands: It’s an easy thing to grab for playground trips with my toddler when I only need phone-wallet-keys and a snack pouch.

What I’d change about it (criticisms)
- The strap hardware is plastic; metal would feel a dab more premium.
- It’s not waterproof, so I stash a zip bag inside when rain is in the forecast or we’re headed to a splash pad.
- Some limited-edition colors sell out fast, so snag your favorite when you see it. I also find some of the patterns clash with what I’d tend to wear, or they’re fast trends.
Quick takeaways about this waist pack
- Ultra-light ripstop nylon keeps the bag packable and durable. It’s one of my lighter waist packs!
- Two zippered compartments organize daily essentials without bulk. And the zippers glide nicely, too.
- Strap adjusts for waist or crossbody carry, even over layers. I prefer it in waist bag format, though.
- Perfect for travelers who want a low-profile fanny pack that’s easy to pack and easy to wear. It can fit into a backpack.
If you’re building a travel sling and fanny pack rotation, this is the ultralight staple I keep recommending to friends who want something carefree yet polished. Being a LeSportsac product, it’s a brand name, but not too fancy, and it’s a pretty timeless style (LeSportsac products have looked the same for at least a decade, and it is impossible to pin them to a specific year!).
