Our Evaluation

After what we have learned about the Cybex Libelle 2, we will tell you that it delivers on its promise of ultra-compactness. Here is a summary!

Why We Chose to Highlight This Stroller

We included the Cybex Libelle 2 because it has one of the smallest folds of any stroller on the market. Strolleria lists the folded dimensions at 13.6 × 7.8 × 20.6 inches and the weight at 13.7 lbs.

It is also compatible with Cybex infant car seats when used with adapters, extending its usability from infancy through toddlerhood. Its tiny fold makes it ideal for travelers who need a stroller that fits in very small spaces. The ultra-small fold is pretty unique, when you look at how the stroller itself folds up: we haven’t seen this in the stroller fold formats from other brands.

At its weight between 13 and 14 lbs, it’s in the low-to-middle of travel stroller weights. We personally think it is an impressive stroller weight for one that folds up so small.

Personal Experience

In use, the Libelle 2 feels feather‑light. It folds down quickly into a compact rectangle that can be carried by the handle or placed in a large tote bag, even.

For babies and toddlers, the ride is smooth on flat surfaces, but the small wheels make it less suitable for uneven terrain like bumpy sidewalks or grass.

The stroller canopy provides enough sun protection, but it’s smaller than the ones we’ve found on larger strollers. The seat recline a bit, but does not lie flat, limiting its comfort for younger babies who may want to nap in a more stable position.

The last thing is that the small basket fits only a few essentials and this is often cited as a lack, from parents we know, who get ‘basket envy’ of strollers that help to fit a larger diaper bag or some more “stuff” in the bottom basket while traveling.

When It’s Worth the Investment

Consider the Libelle 2 if you travel frequently and need a stroller that folds down to an extremely small size. It’s also a good option if you live in a small apartment or have minimal trunk space. The ability to attach a Cybex car seat with adapters adds versatility for newborns. Families who value minimalism and portability will appreciate the Libelle 2’s design. Strolleria highlights its tiny fold and car‑seat compatibility.

Considerations

The tiny fold format of the Libelle 2 comes with trade‑offs: the basket and canopy are small, and the fold requires two steps, rather than a simple one‑hand motion like you might see with other travel strollers in the same price range.

The Libelle 2 is not ideal for newborns, that is, without a car seat and adapters. It lacks extra accessoriess like a parent console or cup holder. Additionally, the seat’s limited recline may not be comfortable for long naps. These limitations are acceptable if ultra‑compactness is your top priority, but other strollers may offer a better balance of features.

Bottom Line

The Cybex Libelle 2 is the ultimate ultra‑compact travel stroller, offering a tiny fold and lightweight build. That’s a given!

It’s ideal for frequent travelers and minimalist families who need a stroller that takes up almost no space, but we think that families should be aware that it sacrifices storage and convenience features like the add-ons.
