Harber London All-Rounder Laptop Sleeve Review: Premium Protection

I’ve been carrying my laptop around coworking spaces and coffee shops for years, and I’ve learned that the value of a laptop sleeve comes down to materials and craftsmanship.

The Harber London All-Rounder Laptop Sleeve is a professional-look laptop case for my computer, as well as my accessories. How does it do both, in such a slim design?

This is my first impressions review after receiving it and testing out how it fits my laptop. Having been a fan of Harber London’s professional products for a few years now, I want to share this honest review with you.

What makes this laptop sleeve different

At first glance, it’s a classy product. While it looks like canvas, it’s actually a fabric made of recycled bottles that feels like a super strong canvas. It doesn’t feel like the flimsy “recycled materials” fabric I’ve encountered elsewhere. It’s strong, and can take on being bounced around in my laptop backpack.

The full-grain leather is both an elevated look as well as a material that’ll last a lifetime. I’ll tell you what: I wish I had had this laptop sleeve when I had my business trip to Texas last year. Having a laptop sleeve with a quiet zipper and smart storage for quick and small essentials is the kind of professional touch I could’ve benefitted from when I took my laptop from the hotel, to a client meeting, then to various office environments, and back.

What I like about this laptop sleeve is that it’s an upscale way to not only carry my laptop, but to protect it while I’m bringing my laptop around a coworking space, if I’m working remotely somewhere abroad. The materials feel substantial without being bulky. While all my laptop backpacks protect my laptop during transit, the key thing is that my laptop still needs protection from hard surfaces or even my bumping into something, while I’m walking somewhere without my backpack.

Real-world durability and craftsmanship

For working remotely and traveling, it feels sturdy and durable, made with the craftsmanship that I’ve gotten to know from Harber London. Some other products I’ve tried from Harber London have been the commuter backpack, the home office desk mat and the smaller, more slim laptop sleeve that Becca has for her Macbook Air.

The company uses premium full-grain leather, which is for some people (but not all). If you’re into leather products, you know that it’s going to age gracefully, rather than peel or get frayed, like faux leather or vegan leather products.

The zippers: I am a zipper critique when it comes to premium products that require investment. In the All-Rounder Laptop Sleeve, the high-quality zippers with leather pull tabs work, and they don’t snag. They don’t even make a sound. During meetings, or while taking my laptop out at a conference, this is the ultimate professional move. The zippers feel smooth and substantial, and the leather zipper pull is the finishing touch.

I plan to have this laptop sleeve for a decade or more–as long as my laptop fits inside (and who knows what size laptops will be, in 20 years!).

Practical features (like pockets) that work great

I like the way my laptop slides in, and I always use the accessories pocket (which is zippered) for small tech gadgets like a rolled up charging cord, my AirPods case, pens, a small notebook and some business cards. The front pocket has dedicated slots for chargers, cords, a mouse and more, plus, there’s a built-in AirTag pocket.

For a protective product, it’s not a bulky case, and that’s even with the tech organizer panel under the zipper in the front. The last thing I need in an already-packed laptop backpack when I’m out for a day or commuting is something thick, bulky or ill-sized for my pack. This laptop sleeve, though: it’s slim, never bulky, and maximizes protection and security of all the expensive things inside, without being annoying.

Environmental considerations and sustainability

The outer shell fabric is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, which I see as Harber London’s environmental impact push. The surprisingly soft interior lining is also made from recycled plastic bottles.

It all feels like canvas, somehow, which is one of my more favorite materials for professional settings.

The bottom line: should you get it?

This is a nicely-designed laptop sleeve that is not a measly neoprene one that’ll break and need replacing. That’s the thing: if you are looking for a durable type of laptop protection, it comes in upscale materials that will last for years and years.

If you take your laptop with you every day to and from work, or you’re constantly moving between coworking spaces, coffee shops and remote destinations, you will want something high-quality that will actually protect your laptop. Cheaper alternatives break, and have to be re-bought every few years.

With the Harber London All-Rounder, you get a decade (or more) of protection built in. The leather ages beautifully over time, the recycled fabric holds up to constant use and the zippers remain smooth year after year. In the cost-per-use analysis, measured over the years it’ll last, it comes out to being pretty affordable (considering that breaking your laptop is much more costly!).

I think I’m mostly a fan of the All-Rounder Laptop Sleeve because it’s a step up from a regular laptop sleeve that has a slide-in, slide-out opening for a laptop. The All-Rounder packs in my accessories, too–securely. It’s a professional’s best approach to having all important tech sealed up and safe, during transit or regular days in the office.
