We bought the Yogasleep Hushh when we first learned that these sizes of white noise machines existed, and it has been in our diaper bag ever since. Could a sound machine the size of a hockey puck really drown out hallway doors and motorcycles outside our Airbnb window in Mexico? This one does.

Battery and charging notes

Whenever we remember to charge it, we do, and we’ve rarely run into a time when it has died on us for that matter.

The rechargeable battery lasts about 10 hours on medium volume. That’s enough for overnight sleep if we top it off with a charge, during breakfast. Then, it’s ready for car naps on the go, or putting next to a Pack & Play travel crib.

We appreciate the USB-C port, so it shares cables with our phones, but I pack the cord because the run time can dip below a full 12-hour stretch. When we’re in flight mode, I leave it plugged into a power bank to avoid mid-nap shutoffs, so there are no surprises at 35,000 feet.

What I’d still tweak

Honestly and overall, this is a really good quality travel white noise machine. However:

  • An auto-off timer might help for daytime naps, though we rarely use such a function in practicality.
  • The flexible clip is handy, but it isn’t always a fit for one of our car seats.
  • There’s no night-light option, so if you want a glow feature you’ll want to bump up to the Hushh+.
