Our Evaluation

The GB Pockit Air occupies a unique niche as one of the smallest travel strollers available. During testing, its extremely compact fold and feather‑light weight made it effortless to carry through airports and busy city streets.

Right away, what we see in it is the hyper slim and minimal umbrella-style build, yet it functions like a true travel stroller that folds up impeccably. What we also notice right off the bat is the extremely limited sun shade that it comes with. We’ll get to this part soon in the considerations below.

One thing we want to tell you though, is that this convenience comes at the cost of comfort and features: the stroller lacks both a recline and a sun canopy, meaning children should be strong sitters and parents should pack their own shade solution. This means that children under 7 or so months who are not yet strong in their sitting ability may “flop around” a bit. Keep it in mind!

Considerations

The total storage for the under-stroller basket is minimal, so parents who are big on the diaper bag and carrying things around (like we are), may find this lacking.

For folding, know that it is a process that requires both hands. There are strollers on the market that can do a one-hand fold, and, well, this is not one of them.

The canopy or sunshade is basically nonexistent. Then again, if if portability is your top priority, the Pockit Air is unmatched. If you’ll be going somewhere in the winter, or if your child is cool with sunscreen and a high-coverage hat, then a sunshade may not make so much of a difference unless you’re strollering around in extreme heat and sunshine. For a price like this, it hits all the other important travel stroller points.

About the Brand

GB is a brand under Goodbaby International, founded in 1989, and now one of the world’s largest baby product manufacturers. The company is producing more than 10,000 strollers DAILY.

The company expanded globally through strategic acquisitions, including Cybex in 2014 and Evenflo in 2014, establishing itself as a major force in the baby gear industry. This might explain why GB strollers support Cybex car seats (whereas they do not support car seats from other brands!).
