Why we like it

The Canvelle Fanny Pack stands out among other fanny packs we own because it’s so lightweight and spacious.

Because all Canvelle products (and we’ve tried the entire suite of them!) are made from recycled plastic bottles, they’re eco-friendly and sustainable, compared to other brands who are not using recycled materials for their travel gear.

A few things that help out with the convenience of Canvelle products is that they are all machine-washable, so the Classic Fanny Pack can just go in our washing machine if it gets dirty or dusty.

For nice features, the air-cushioned back panel helps it avoid absorbing sweat when it’s against my body, and the extra-wide strap is more supportive than skinnier or thinner waist pack straps. The water-resistant phone pocket keeps my phone safe, but sometimes I just use it for smaller stuff like a set of napkins or tissues, a Chapstick, or my AirPods.

Lastly, the two size options (Oversized and Original–I’ve tried both!) let you choose the perfect capacity. The Oversized version even fits a Kindle and has an additional front pocket. In the past, I’ve stored an entire water bottle in the Oversized one, and loaded it with stuff I wanted to have with me during the day.

The Original size works just fine for daily essentials, and even throwing in some granola bars for my snacks. A final feature is the built-in key clip that comes in handy if the inside of my Fanny Pack is getting disorganized; I also clip in my Canvelle flat wallet or my small Canvelle key wallet with the wrist strap.

I’m a super fan of this one.

Considerations

While the Canvelle Fanny Pack offers excellent features, it comes at a higher price point than basic fanny packs. This is what we’d tell you for a lot of the Canvelle products: they’re more expensive than what you’d pay for a waist pack from other brands.

But, given how much I’ve used both my Oversized and Original Fanny Packs (I even got one for my mom, and she loves it!), the “cost per wear” goes way down if you make the Canvelle Fanny into your daily bag. And I can promise it’ll last for years.

The Original size has a more limited capacity (1.8 liters) compared to some competitors, so for travelers needing maximum storage, you might prefer the Oversized version. It’s like a day bag–one that you can sling crossbody.

The sustainable materials and comfort features justify the price for many travelers, but budget-conscious buyers might find the price expensive for a travel fanny pack.

If the price of the Oversized and Original Fanny has you hesitating, check out the Canvelle Belt Bag, which is a reasonably-priced and smaller-volume option with the same sustainability and style benefits!

About Canvelle

Canvelle creates stylish, functional bags designed for the modern traveler. I’ve been following the brand since 2022!

Their fanny packs feature machine-washable construction made from recycled plastic bottles, air-cushioned comfort features, and water-resistant materials. All of these benefits are crucial during travel, and Canvelle excels in making lots of travel bags (totes, weekenders, duffels and backpacks, too) that come in distinctly different volume and dimension sizes. There is a Canvelle travel bag for every type of person.

The brand focuses on sustainability through the materials that use recycled plastic bottles. For us, this is one of the biggest bonuses of Canvelle, in that the brand is transparent about going green.
