While I was on the same trip in San Francisco, Dan had changed cities and moved to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. It was here in Rabat that he ate a lot of lunch food and made lunch his biggest meal of the day at his co-working space. In San Francisco, I stayed at my friend Rob’s apartment and cooked him brunch as a thank-you surprise. Dan and I matched up our white plates of food on two different continents, North America and Africa, where we had our biggest time zone difference yet of eight hours between us.
